It can sometimes feel as if employees spend more time talking about the work—aligning, correcting, re-explaining—than getting it done. Research shows that in the modern workplace, people devote a mindblowing 88% of their workweek communicating with business partners across multiple channels. That leaves fewer than five hours a week of focused time to actually complete the work.
Organizations everywhere want to increase productivity and impact, but employees are only as productive as their communication. What would your business look like if you could nail effective communication the first time? If that email could replace setting up yet another meeting? If your employees didn’t burn time resolving miscommunications or misconstrued tones?
Businesses run on communication. Getting it right will unlock your entire organization’s performance and transform how you achieve business goals. And all of this can be done safely and efficiently.
Grammarly already helps thousands of businesses enhance their communication, ensuring consistency and compliance with corporate and industry standards, all within a secure framework. For the past 15 years, we’ve led the charge as the responsibly built AI writing partner that helps people at 96% of the Fortune 500 and teams at leading enterprises like Salesforce, Atlassian, Zoom, Expedia Group, and Siemens communicate better and faster—everywhere they work.
Today we’re introducing a series of new security and implementation controls designed to ensure the seamless deployment of AI communication assistance across your enterprise. In addition to Grammarly’s comprehensive AI writing assistance, these upgraded security features and flexible management options allow you to rest easy knowing Grammarly offers the most robust enterprise security and control features of any AI communication assistance company. The enhancements build upon Grammarly’s core business features, including generative AI seamlessly integrated into your workflows, strategic suggestions that help you achieve your communication objective, ways to ensure teams use on-brand language and a consistent voice, and shared text templates to boost productivity. With our new features, Grammarly is offering organizations of all sizes even more ways to safely use AI to enhance and standardize communication across their entire business, now with even more control, visibility, and flexibility.
New ways to safeguard your organization’s data
Grammarly’s security is built to the highest standards, with trust at the heart of everything we do. We hold the most enterprise-grade security certifications of any AI writing assistance company, and we never sell customer data or let third parties store or use it to train their models.
Grammarly already provides customer-level encryption at rest and in transit for all individuals and business customers. Now, with bring your own key (BYOK), we’re giving enterprises control over their data encryption keys, offering additional assurance and oversight into how their data is stored, by enabling them to encrypt application-level data at rest. BYOK allows businesses to generate and provide their own encryption keys via Amazon Web Services Key Management Service (AWS KMS).
When using BYOK, customers will also be able to view detailed access logs in CloudTrail, documenting every instance when Grammarly accesses their key to view encrypted data. This not only provides an added layer of security but also increases transparency, ensuring businesses have a clear overview of who is accessing their data and when. BYOK also includes full revocation properties, giving customers the peace of mind that if they decide to discontinue using Grammarly, they can simply revoke access to their key to ensure robust data protection.
Session timeout enables organizations to further safeguard their Grammarly account against unauthorized entry and understand their active users. By having sessions expire after a certain time period defined by admins, organizations can ensure that their users regularly reauthenticate their Grammarly access.
Customize Grammarly for your unique business needs
In addition to new autonomy and security infrastructure capabilities, we are adding several other highly requested features that fortify our existing security posture and further support the implementation of Grammarly at scale for enterprises.
Custom roles allow teams to align Grammarly access and management with their organization’s operational requirements. With custom roles, you can create and define new roles and permissions for admins, giving them access to only the appropriate settings they need to perform their jobs. Furthermore, admins can customize who can access, view, and edit different settings, reducing the risk of unauthorized changes applied on the Grammarly administrative level.
Group-level security controls ensure departments have the appropriate access controls to communicate effectively. Need your marketing team to be able to use a certain application, but want it blocked for your legal team reviewing sensitive documents? This new feature enables admins to configure and customize Grammarly data access at a granular level so that it can be deployed across the organization while taking into account how different teams work. Admins can configure domain and application blocklists and Grammarly client controls at the group level and set specific security restrictions for specific groups within the organization.
Enterprise cost-center visibility simplifies enterprise license management and allows account owners to see which departments use Grammarly. No more manually maintaining user lists or handling separate department invoices. This capability enables customers to scale confidently with Grammarly by getting a centralized and holistic view of usage across all cost centers.
Grammarly’s new Figma plugin—brought to you by popular demand!—enables employees to produce high-quality and on-brand content across all of their writing and design workflows. You’ll eliminate all those extra rounds of back-and-forth comments and won’t lose sleep worrying about shipping new assets littered with typos. You can now access the Grammarly Figma plugin here or by navigating to the plugins menu in Figma.
For growing teams that don’t need enterprise-grade features yet, we will soon be rolling out a new plan option that makes it easier for teams of any size to use Grammarly together.
With all of the features above, enterprises can unlock Grammarly’s AI—and therefore, more effective communication—across their entire organization. The features are available to all businesses with a Grammarly Enterprise subscription, and the Figma plugin is available to all users. Admins can view and configure custom roles, group-level security controls, and enterprise cost-center visibility directly in the account hub to manage Grammarly usage across multiple teams. Please contact our Sales team if you are interested in setting up BYOK or session timeout to further secure your business, or have questions about any of these new advanced features.
